TET. Responsible wear is about celebrating female collaboration, responsible and total transparency: ethical, responsible clothing made from recycled materials with attention to detail. Our story begins and ends in the ocean.
Owner and founder of TET., Lieke van Hulsbergen saw the plastic problem grow during her distant travels. While working on her graduation project on recycled materials, she came across Repreve; an innovative, high quality fabric made of plastic waste and industrial nylon waste. This gave birth to the idea of producing swimwear with this fabric to effectively tackle the plastic problem.
In 2018, Lieke moved to Bali, which is where TET’s roots lie. She sought out the factories where the products were produced herself and to be as close to the source as possible. When TET. Started in 2019 the focus was on the production of sustainable bikinis, now in addition to swimwear we also produce yoga and responsible clothing.
The production of sustainable clothing
TET. Responsible wear’s primary focus is to build a brand that effectively tackles debris reduction, particularly the plastic that litters the sea. All of our swimwear is crafted from Repreve – an innovative, high-quality performance fabric that’s made from plastic waste and industrial nylon waste by certified factories.
All of our sustainable clothing, sportswear and accessories are made from organic cotton, linen, tercel and organic bamboo. This is produced in local factories in Bali, indonesia. In addition, all of our bikinis are reversible and all collections are designed to match, allowing you to mix and match all items; your bikini will be your best friend for the rest of your life.
Our goal
Using waste from the ocean to create on-trend and high quality recycled swimwear that will eventually find itself back there through the wearer, the circle is complete. We create fashion-forward clothing that lasts forever and can be combined endlessly.
TET. Is developing non-stop, see what else we do?

Sustainability

Repreve
We use the product UNIFIBER; recycled nylon is made from post-Industrial waste that is all recycled and saving waste from going to land fill.
Recycled waste get smelted into chips and extruded into yarn.

Carvico
ECONYL nylon is a 100% regenerated nylon made from waste that would otherwise pollute the earth. Carvico is mixing ECONYL yarn with spandex to get the ultimate fit and comfort. We are very happy to take a little part in helping to reduce the consumption of plastic in our beautiful world.

Linen
Linen is one of the most biodegradable fabrics there is. Besides that linen is strong and will last long, linen is made from flax plant fibres, which are (when not dyed) fully biodegradable.

Organic cotton
Organic cotton is grown without the use of pesticides, from seeds which have not been genetically modified. Organic farming practices avoid using harmful chemicals while aiming for the use of less resources.
Our factories in Bali and in China have been carefully selected so that they meet our ethical standards. All our pieces are made with love and care especially for you. Our swimwear factory is operating trough the BSCI standards. In Bali the factories are very close to our village so when we are here we meet the tailors every week.

Our name
The ocean, is not only very important for TET. but for the world we live in. Currently our seas are full of plastic, the expectation is that in less than 30 years we will have more plastic than fish swimming in our seas. The ocean is our base and inspiration, we give the plastic a new function. In this way, the plastic is returned to the sea in a good, sustainable and above all
eye-catching way. A world where plastic is no longer a disposable product, but is used as a raw material for beautiful and sustainable initiatives.
That is our dot on the horizon.
The dot

Our home
Our roots are in Bali, where we experienced the plastic problem that gave birth to the idea of TET. We like to do something good for the island and its inhabitants. Our sustainable clothing is printed and made by local tailors in Bali and we organise beach clean ups on the island.

Responsibility
Sustainability is central to the production of all our products. For example, we only buy certified fabrics, our bikinis are made in China from Repreve and carvio that is collected from post-industrial waste and fishing nets and we make scrunchies from left-over fabrics so that as little fabric as possible is thrown away.

Goal
Clean up the oceans, seas and beaches and turning waste into a long-lasting product. One bikini at a time.
Every year, millions of tons of plastic are entering our ocean. Solving the plastic pollution requires a combination of closing the source and cleaning up what is already there!
That is why we host ocean clean up’s in Bali, to clean up our beaches, especially in the rainy season.
We are hosting the beach clean up’s around Canggu, for now. There is still plenty of work here. Every beach clean up has its own location. Most of the time we organize it during the rainy season as then there is the most plastic around.
