step 1 - fabrics

swimwear

For the production of our swimwear we use two types of Repreve yarn to which elastane is added.

UNIFIBER

Unifiber is recycled nylon made from post-industrial waste. The recycled waste is melted into chips and extruded into yarn.

REPREVE RECYCLED POLYESTER

Repreve recycled polyester is one of the most certified, traceable fibres available. High-quality recycled fibres are made from 100% recycled materials, including post-consumer water bottles and pre-consumer waste.

Clothing

We use a variety of sustainable fabrics in the production of our clothing.

Organic cotton

Organic cotton is grown without the use of pesticides and from seeds that have not been genetically modified but rather organically grown. We strive to use as few chemicals as possible in our choice of fabrics.

Linen

Linen is one of the most biodegradable fabrics available. Besides being strong and long-lasting, linen is made from flax plant fibres, which (when not dyed) is completely biodegradable.

Organic hemp

Hemp is one of the strongest fibres available today. It is breathable, durable, hypoallergenic and antibacterial. Moreover, it is a natural, bio-based and biodegradable fabric.

Eco Rayon

Rayon fibres are textile fibres made from cellulose derived from plants such as trees, bamboo, and even cotton waste. It is a breathable fabric that is stretchy and soft to the touch.

step 2 - factory

Our swimwear collections are designed in the Netherlands and made in a BSCI certified factory in China. The yarn is made in another factory. Because the process from plastic bottle to fibres/yarn is complicated.

See below the production process explained.

Our clothes are produced by local tailors in Bali. All products are made of natural materials. During the production we visit the factories every week.

step 3 - we care about our people

We have good contact with our factory in China.

We have been there personally to meet the people we work with and to check if the working conditions are ethical. Also, a BSCI report is carried out every two years to check the working conditions. They produce our clothing to the standards of the TET. Policy.

Our products are produced in 3 different locations within Bali.

Fabrics

We start by picking the fabrics. In the process we scan for 100% sustainable/natural fabrics and the certifications that go with them.

Dyer

The fabrics are then personally taken to the dyer, the colours are manually mixed and printed on samples to get the perfect colour. When the samples are approved, the fabric is dyed.

Atelier

The dyed fabrics are cut and assembled in the studio.

Because we are so close to the production process, we have a good understanding of how people are treated. They produce our clothes to the standards of our TET. Policy.

step 4 - we care about the world

At TET. We try to keep the impact on our environment – our footprint – as little as possible.

We do this by:

  • Small-scale production
  • Cutting our patterns with as little waste as possible
  • We have a zero waste target in our factory in China
  • Samples and scrunchies are made from fabric remnants

We love innovation, do you know of any good initiatives or ways to produce in an even more sustainable way? We would like to get in touch with you! info@tetswimwear.com

STEP 5 - SHIPPING to the Netherlands

We use freight or shipping methods that have as little impact on the environment as possible. We avoid air transport and always choose the most sustainable option.

step 6 - packaging

When the products are ready in China/Bali, they are packed there in recycled/reusable plastic according to GRS standards. After which it is shipped to the Netherlands.

Step 7 - Shipping to your house

Our products go straight to our warehouse in Cruquius. Your order is packed exclusively in recycled material, from cardboard box, label, booklets to wrapping paper.

In short, your package has been produced in the most environmentally-friendly way possible, from start to finish. The only thing left for you to do is to carry the product around for a long time and reuse the box and the plastic!
